You are not an experienced rock climber, but you would like to experience the sensation of climbing a rock face. Come and discover the “Via Ferrata du Belvedere”. 220 meters of vertical height difference just above the Rhone valley with a breathtaking view…
Period: open all the year The “Via Ferrata” of Nax was born during 2000. Situated on the west face of the Nax rocks, at the point known as the “Belvedere”, it can be climbed by all. Both passionate mountain lovers and holiday makers in search of thrills will find their satisfaction.
Only simple techniques are used and manipulations are kept to a minimum. Since its creation it has been popular with the climbing community, who, for the large majority, fell in love it. With a little luck you may even be able to see the peregrine falcon. This bird of prey also appreciates the panoramic view because it has decided to nest on the north face of the Nax Piton.
This is a rare falcon which is worth protecting – there are only approximately twenty couples in the Valais. Finally, you will be well situated to observe the strange sleeping “Naxard”, who, according to tradition gave his name to the village of Nax.
